The Movement Needs You: Come to Springfield to Defend the Pretrial Fairness Act!

Registration is now closed! If you're weren't able to get signed up you can join us for the rally at the capitol at 3pm! More info will be available on our social media in the coming days.

January is quickly approaching and after years of organizing, Illinois is set to end money bond and reduce pretrial jailing in 2023 with the Pretrial Fairness Act! In response to the historic Black Lives Matter protests of 2020, Illinois passed this monumental legislation making our state a leader in pretrial justice reform. This was a massive victory to reduce pretrial jailing!

As we prepare for implementation, law enforcement has been busy trying to gut and ultimately repeal the Pretrial Fairness Act. Racist scare tactics and disinformation are being used to influence the public opinion to undermine its impact. We need all hands on deck during November’s Veto Session to ensure the Pretrial Fairness Act goes into effect as our communities intended.

Join the Illinois Network for Pretrial Justice in Springfield on November 16th to defend the Pretrial Fairness Act! Activities in the capitol will kick off at 10am and conclude with a rally at 3pm.

Register here and join us in the capitol!
